UX Goals
I make applications simpler, faster, smarter and more delightful.

Simple
I focus on clarity. Is it clear what can be done? Is it is clear why you would want to do a task? I clarify why the functionality is valuable. I research the intended user so I can understand what makes sense to them. I add hierarchy into the experience and visually elevate the more important tasks.

Fast
Users are here to accomplish tasks. The faster they can do so, the more satisfied they'll be and that increases retention. This goal extends beyond fast technology; it's about creating efficient experiences that anticipate needs and present information appropriately. If specific information is needed before a task can be completed, I make sure that information is pre-loaded on the screen so people don't have hunt for it. Simple experiences attract users, and fast experiences keep them coming back.

Smart
Devices can track location and store patterns. For example, if a salesperson opens a sales app in Austin, TX, they're likely visiting a customer there so it would appropriate to pre-load the customer info. If a person is using a mobile invoicing app then pre-filling the address based on location or tracking the time spend at location would be smart. Smart experiences use automatic defaults, AI, and predictive features.

Delightful
Delight and beauty come from the harmony of elements. Software is a commodity; a pleasant app encourages repeated use. Delight doesn't mean colorful or pretty; it could be subdued to let content shine. Different interfaces serve different purposes - marketing pages need immediate discovery and brand extension, while daily-use interfaces should be subdued and data-focused. Both can be delightful in their own ways.
